Case study

A retired educator used journaling
to document her pain while her husband was admitted in the hospital. Everyday this retiree documented the medication the doctor prescribed for her husband. Her husband was admitted to the hospital because he had a terminal illness. Apparently, the doctor prescribed the wrong medication. This educator won her case in court through her diligence of documenting every medication the doctor prescribed for her husband while he was admitted in the hospital. This proves that journaling is a viable document that the court system used to settle cases.

Journaling a free style of writing
helps people deal with stress, trauma, life threatening sickness, broken relationship, and a celebration of self.

Life's experience presents challenges at times as in the case of the retired educator. When an individual goes through a trauma such as dealing with cancer, he/she needs an outlet. Journaling provides that outlet. Journaling is a tool that gives instant relief of pent up emotions. It is an avenue to release anger and everything else. When you write exactly what you're feeling you're releasing. Healing takes place through the release of anger and anything that bothers the mind.

Journaling helps to focus the mind, free up creativity, give voice to the voiceless, organized thoughts, a premise for innovation, and a tool for healing.
